 JUNGIAN PSYCHOLOGY AND RELIGION

On Friday evening, November 6, 2026, I will present a lecture and facilitate discussion about Jungian Psychology and its relevance to religion for the C.G. Jung Society of St. Louis. The event will be both in-person and virtual (via Zoom). For more information or to join in, please visit the Society's website at www.jungstl.org.

C.G. Jung (1875-1961) mostly theorized about personality development and psychology in general, particularly about the very definition and extent of human consciousness and self identity. With his publication of Answer to Job in 1952, he found himself embroiled in theological arguments especially about the nature of the god-head, how it has changed over the past three millennia, and current theological and psychological understanding of human-divine relationships.

For many moderns who no longer feel at home in a particular religion, Jungian Psychology has become a sort of "half-way house." Part of of the Friday event will be a discussion of that phenomenon.
