Reflections on the Symbolism of a Window

Window Symbolism: ego as window; self, what shines through.  Our foibles, sins, missteps cloud the glass, and our self consciousness acts as distortions in the frame that call attention to the ego.  Our eyes may actually serve as “meta windows” through which Some Other gazes out to gain a human perspective.

Reminds me of a painting in MOMA: Portrait of Ren'an in a Landscape

https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/36433

The poem on the painting roughly reads: “This man is gifted. Mountain monk happens to have wonderful fate (fated to meet). Not really a meeting at cloud mountain. Also because of eye/visual communication/passing knowledge or wisdom. Give him a Ruyi (traditional Chinese curved scepter, usually used by Gods, Daoist, monks, etc.). Talk about plum sit meditation.”

Reminds me of the below:

"Then he gradually learned to walk and to leap, and two streams of golden radiance broke from his eyes which shot up to the highest of the castles of heaven, so that the Lord of the Heavens was frightened."

Reminds me of a dream image: the dolphins break through the windows from outside and come into my bedroom

Thank is a most interesting dream. I trust you have reflected on this "break through" and the symbolism of the dolphin. Thank you for sharing your dream.
